One reason why I want an alpaca, so I can give them cool hairstyles.

    I’ve named this one Leslie.

  4. Llama Lunch

While at the St. Augustine Hacienda in Ecuador the staff brought in the domestic Llamas into the courtyard so that we could hand feed them. But they forgot the feed when they got there. So as they went to get the feed the Llamas helped themselves to the landscaping. It seemed as though they liked the greens better then the flowers fortunately.

  8. Labrador meets Llama

Bucky, a one-year-old Labrador that belongs to some friends of ours, meets Catazo, a male llama that we keep as a pet out at our friend’s farm. Nothing like a little inter-species bonding!

We’re lucky the greeting turned out this way. Llamas are very suspicious of dogs, as they look like predators that may attack. As a consequence, llamas will sometimes jump on dogs they don’t know, which is what they would do in the wild if a predator got mixed in with their group. They also could, of course, spit at the dog, which is disgusting to say the least since llamas spit their stomach contents. Fortunately, ‘Tazo rarely spits — which is good, especially since Bucky probably would have enjoyed it!
